So, yeah.
Last Night, Dispatch made love to my ear.
7/14/2007- 3-10AM
3 AM the trip has started to New York, pretty much uneventful except that I had a bad stomach ache, well and we stopped for breakfast at Boston for an hour or so, probably a bad idea. When we got into New York, the traffic was insane, we couldn't move and we were pretty much going to where everyone else was going, Manhattan, so it really sucked. Well, eventually we got there and we parked teh car and were on our way to get lost in the metro.
-12-4PM
Well, Dylan and I put the metro slips through the gate, and for some reason we thought it was normal that there was a fence on the other side, so we were stuck between the fence and the little thing where you scan your ticket, sorta embarrassing. Once we got it figured out we were on our hour long ride to Coney Island in Brooklyn. Everyone was in a bikini there, and coincidentally everyone was obese. Especially at Nathan's famous hot dogs where we went, because apparently Kobayashi ate an assfull of hotdogs there. I just got fries.
After that we went to go pay for a toilet, and play arcade games. Then comes the hour ride to Manhattan.
4-630
Well we got off in times square, and we saw probably the most famous intersection in the world. You know, the one that has that little island in the middle and there's this big tele screen in the middle and the road forks. Well, we were there, and so was the Naked Cowgirl, which we got pictures with. We then walked around for an hour to try to find food. We found it. It was pizza.
630-12:00
We took a bike taxi to MSG, and found that everyone outside waiting for dispatch looked the exact same as us, which was a good thing i suppose. We went inside, bought a t-shirt, and waited for the longest hour and a half of my life. You don't understand how freaking excited I was. Prolly peed my pants 40 times a minute.
Suddenly, the stage darkens!
And 15 african kids come on stage and start doing an awesome dance, our seats were right behind them, we could probably touch them if we tried. Anyways then Dispatch came out and I shit myself. Pretty much everyone around me was crying and the next few hours was nothing but amazingness, sweatiness, and smelling potness. There was so much freaking energy, but that was probably because everyone was either drunk or smoking pot (inside madison square garden). Every single person in there knew every single lyric to every single song, so it was probably the most coordinated audience ever. Like most every single song they ever made was played at this concert, well it was like 8 to 12. At the end, after 10 minutes of applause and encore yelling, they came out and played cut it ya match it, and finally The General, after which Madison Square Garden exploded and ceased to exist.
The way back was sorta horrible because everyone was sweaty, hot, smelly, and coated with a new york slime. but whatever, i have my dispatch tshirt, and i should get more online, and yeah. They pretty much saved alot of Zimbabweans because of all the money they raised (4.99 buys a full term of education, .99 provides a family with a month of food) which was alot because they sold out madison square garden for 3 days in a row, with no advertising at all.
Holy shit, i don't have anything to look foward to in life anymore
